Hello Neighbors,
Many of us have pets in our homes, so those of us who do know first-hand how they are considered to be members of our family! With that said, due to some recent home owners’ unfortunate issues/concerns related to pets, we are sending a reminder of policies.
Please read the attached full Dog Ordinance from the Van Buren Twp. Here are a few key points:
- An owner must obtain a License for your dog through the Township and this must be kept current. This is also proof of a Rabies vaccination.
- When walking a dog, the dog must be on a leash no longer than six feet in length.
- Owners must be in control of their dog at all times.
- Dog waste must be removed from your property on a regular basis whereas no one should notice or smell the waste at any time.
If you notice violations related to any of the above, you should call Van Buren Twp Police non-emergency at 734-699-8930. This number connects you to the ordinance officer and animal control. They want YOU to call them.
Below also is a copy of the Belle Pointe Estates Bi-laws with the section about Pets in our subdivision.
